The View

17 image Panorama of Sandilands

On Sunday I went to a spot a friend told me about. You can go only so far with a vehicle then have to walk about a kilometer to get to this spot. The view is incredible. I have a couple panoramas I have process and if they turn out, I’ll add them to this post. I definitely plan to return to this spot. I took many photos but not many turned out. First time using my 70-200 at 200 for landscapes shots. Takes a little more care before pulling the trigger to get a good shot. I need to spend more time focusing and weighing down my boat anchor tripod. I have this old Linhoff my uncle gave me and it is a monster but sturdy. It can also reach above my head and I am 6′1″.  Below is the road to get to this view.

Red Barn

Saturday I used Google Maps to pick out a location to shoot. On the way there I passed by this farm. I’ve passed by it before but thought it was still lived on. It isn’t. I decided to scrap my original plans and shoot at this farm instead.

Old Farm House

The next few images are of this tree and pond located next to the old farm. You can see this tree from the highway but it’s too far to capture and do it justice. With the recent flooding, there is debris and drift wood all around this pond. This is such a great location. I hope to return when the sky is more cooperative.

Friday Night Sunset

I’ve been saving this spot for the right conditions. Last night the conditions were right. On the drive to this spot there was a vivid rainbow to the east. I was not in a good location to capture it and by the time I got to a good spot, set up and was ready to shoot, it was too late. The rainbow had almost disappeared and did not return. Not all was last though. I spent about an hour a half at this location and got a few keepers.  I still get amazing at some of the colors that nature can produce. As I was taking these photos there was a little on an ATV cruising back n forth on the trail/bridge. This little swamp/valley is actually between to properties. Just imagine having this view out your kitchen window everyday.
