The Weather Is Going Down The...

The huge amount of rain (5in + in places) we got over the weekend made for some photo opportunities. Theses photos were taken in a spot that I have been many times. It seems every time I stop here I get a completely different type of photo.

Don't Get Sucked In

There were two whirlpools at this location.

Eddy

Below is 180 degrees from where the whirlpools are. As you can see, the water is flowing fast.

Watch Your Step

Friday, on the way home from work, I decided to take a little detour. A storm was rolling in and thought maybe I would revisit a couple spots. Well, I never got to those spots when I found I new one. While there, a friend stopped and invited me over for a beer. He left then shortly returned. Then he pulled this snapping turtle out of the back of his truck he found just up the road. This one was a little smaller then the one I found a few weeks ago.

Whiplash

Here is the snapper I found a couple weeks ago.

Don't Come Any Closer

This is the spot that led to the snapping turtle photos. I could only get this one shot as the mosquitoes were unreal.

I finally had the opportunity to get out and meet some fellow photographers from a private photography forum I am part of.  We decided to meet at St. Vital Park in Winnipeg. I had a great time talking and meeting people as well as finally putting some faces to user names. More time was spent chatting then taking photos but I got a couple that I really liked.
