Sea of Gold

I took a little detour, today, on the way home from work to get some shots of the golden fields. After 3 solid days of rain and garbage weather I needed a fix. Was hoping to catch a sunset tonight as well but the clouds took over and killed that plan. :/

The Whiteshell, MB

Saturday, I had a great time hiking and taking photos, with fellow local photography forum member. We really couldn’t have asked for a better day. It was a little windy but helped keep the bugs at bay (a little).

We hiked the White Pine Tail off of Hwy 312. After a few hours on the trail we stopped at the bridge on Hwy 312 at the Whiteshell River.

After a bite to eat we were on the lookout for a sunset spot when we came across the deer on the side of the road. They are really tame and used to people which allowed us to get close.

We ended up on this big rock between the #1 hwy and the old #1 hwy between Brereton and Falcon Lake. This was our last resort spot as we tried to find another spot.

Needless to say, the sunset was quite spectacular and was a great way to end the day.
