Last night I decided to head out since a storm was rolling in. I couldn’t go far as there wasn’t much gas in the car so I decided to head out to the high point on trail 16 in Sandilands. IT Turned out to be a good choice. I found this burnt tree and while I was composing a shot of it I noticed this vivid rainbow. These were a little challenging to shoot as it was raining. I’d tilt the camera down to clean the lens, make sure my settings were correct and quickly tilt up and shoot before the rain would hit the lens. Even my UWA lens at 10mm wasn’t really wide enough. I didn’t think of it at the time but I should have done a 2 shot panorama. Either way, I and very happy I decided to venture out and get a chance to see this.
Archive for June, 2009Last weekend I found this old building. I would have taken a photo then but it was surrounded by cattle. I returned a again and this time there was no cattle. I have no idea how old this building is but it must be really old. These guys are usually long gone by the time I am ready to take a shot. I was lucky and caught this just before it ran away. Found this guy walking along the side of the road. This is the largest turtle, besisdes in a zoo, that I have ever seen in real life. It’s shell was at least 15″ long and it’s head as big as my fist. Saturday I decided to hunt for more abandoned buildings. I explored an area I hadn’t yet been. I was lucky and found a few gems. |
