Left Behind

This is a 2 part post. Since I didn’t go out as much as I would have liked this past several days, I didn’t get as many shots. So these shots are from 2 different shoots. Now it is raining/snowing and have been since yesterday. It is supposed to continue through to Friday. Yuck. Hope the weather clears up before that.

Sandilands Sunset

The other night I decided to make a stop before heading to a friend’s place. I decided to return to the high point in Sandilands Provincial Park because the clouds were playing nice again. As I drove up to the spot I noticed an ATV trail to the right and drove down it. I was hoping it would lead to a great spot but it turned into a dead end instead. I turned around and headed back. As I got back the road there is now a van parked in the way. Turns out it’s another photographer there to photograph the Crocuses. I just thought it was interesting that in the middle of nowhere I run into another photog. I wasn’t on my game last night and only got one shot I like.

Hidden Barn Panorama 2

Hidden Barn Panorama

Yesterday, after dinner, I headed out to my new, favorite, area again. Once again I found some excellent locations for photos. I will definitely be returning to a few of them in the future. Especially once the field blooms around the white barn. The above photo is my new favorite panorama. I had to wait a long time for this shot but was worth it. There was a pole and power lines running throughout this scene. I painstakingly removed it all. It is a 4 angle 3 shot HDR panorama (12 exposures).  Best view large: (Click here to view large!) The top photo was a real challenge to stitch together. I originally took 5 angles and both Photoshop and Autopano Pro failed when trying to stitch them. Then I tried using only 4 angles, then 3 and finally the 2 outer angles worked. I am very thankful because I really like this scene. I decided to leave the power limes and pole in this shot.
