Rat River Bridge

Sunday, after dinner with my parents and aunt and uncle, I took a little detour on the way home. I was on the hunt for a location to shoot a sunset as there was quite a nice sunset happening. Unfortunately, I didn’t find a spot in time to get a good shot of the sunset. I did manage to find myself at the Rat River Bridge on Hwy. 305. It’s hard to believe that just a few weeks ago the water was almost touching the bottom off the bridge. These are all shot HDR but I have been working on my black and white conversion technique and decided to make these black and white. Except for the first image of course. Enjoy!

STOP

Saturday I took a cruise out to a water spot I found on Google Maps. Since the fire last year they have updated the area with higher resolution images which allows me to zoom in and find cool spots for photo opportunities. Above is another shot up stop sign I came across not that far from one I found last year. This photo is not upside down. Below is a 4 image collage taken at a small pond I found. Since there was nothing in the foreground of interest I decided to make my own. I decided to toss a pebble while shooting in continuous mode.

Pebble Toss

Below had some nice foreground interest and the glass like water really helped the clarity.

One last stop before I went home last night.

Right where my house is you can’t see the horizon as I am surrounded by trees. If I walk to the road you can kind of see the horizon but only a small sliver. To really know, I have to get in the car and drive. I was talking to my Mom earlier last night and she can see the to the west very well. I asked her how it was looking. Based on her description, I made my decision to head out. Had she NOT told me, I wouldn’t have. Very happy I did. I stopped by a great spot I was at a couple of weeks ago. (See St. Labre Sunset)
