More Flood Reflections

I went out for a couple quick shots last night while visiting a friend’s place. This is the same spot I was a about a week ago (See Icicle Madness/Susnet). Things look a lot different now.

If you look at the photo below, you’ll see some ice at the middle right in the water. After that shot, we pushing it free from the shore and it floated to where the water has washed out the road. It was an interesting sight to see it get destroyed going down the mini rapids.

Aside from my usually processing I added lots of contrast, saturation and played with the WB to get the look I was after.

Standing Strong Against The Currents

Last night was a great night for a sunset.

My only plan was to head towards Dominion City and see what I could find. Needless to say I didn’t make to Dominion City but I found a few great locations for photos. Furthest I got was near Vita. I stuck to the main highways as the roads are VERY bad at places. The shots under the bridge were adventurous. There was literally thousands, if not millions, of gallons rushing by me. One wrong step and it would have been game over.

View Under A Bridge

On the way home, during the magic hour, from the bridge/river shots I came across some flood waters on the 302 hwy. Made for more great reflections shots.

Flood Reflections Magic Hour

One last stop for the bales. The sky was putting a great show last night!

So glad I got off my butt and headed out.
